The railway systems vertical reflects Lalbaba’s full integration capability. Lalbaba manufactures critical bogie and brake assemblies and delivers turnkey modernisation programs under the Rail Solutions-as-a-Service (RSaaS) model. Offerings include coach conversions, life-extension retrofits, and wagon rebuilds, executed across multiple customer sites, demonstrating Lalbaba’s ability to deliver complex programs reliably at scale.

Lalbaba’s Railway works & projects vertical execute large-scale railway works and modernization programs under our Rail Solutions-as-a-Service (RSaaS) model. These services have been delivered across more than 40 Indian Railways workshops and depots, as well as customer sites for private operators.

Key project categories

Retrofitment of Twin-Pipe Systems in Wagons

Lalbaba converts freight wagons from single-pipe to twin-pipe brake systems, enhancing braking efficiency and safety. This includes supplying complete kits, performing on-site fitment, commissioning, and providing certification.

Conversion of ICF Coaches

Lalbaba upgrades older Integral Coach Factory (ICF) passenger coaches into NMG carriers and subsequently into NMGHS high-speed carriers. This enables more efficient utilization of existing assets and supports the growing demand for high-speed freight transport.

Supply and Fitment of Undercarriage Brake System Items

We supply and install undergear brake system components — including air brake pipes, cylinders, reservoirs, beams, and slack adjusters — for newly built wagons and coaches. The team also carries out on-site installation of double ferrule pipes and fittings in newly manufactured coaches and locomotives, ensuring faster commissioning and standardized quality.

Lalbaba operates three advanced manufacturing facilities located in Haldia, Uluberia, and Ghusuri, West Bengal, each equipped to support our core business verticals.
