Infrastructure

One of the most important assets of the organization is its forging unit. The group is well equipped with various forging equipment and set-up like pneumatic and drop forging hammers. To meet the increasing demand of quality, forging in various industries, the organization is in the process of expanding its forging division. The company has recently introduced induction furnaces, replacing its oil-based predecessors, which not only increases efficiency but also greatly benefits the environment.

The Forging Unit is equippeed with ultra modern machineries, like:
  • Drop forging hammers
  • Trimming & punching mechanical press
  • Induction heating furnaces (Capacity 250 kW and 400 kW)
  • Automatic High speed band saw
  • Short Blasting MC
  • Heat Treatment Furnaces
  • Die Shop with CNC Vertical milling M C & Turner
  • Conventional MC Shop

Lalbaba operates three advanced manufacturing facilities located in Haldia, Uluberia, and Ghusuri, West Bengal, each equipped to support our core business verticals.

Haldia Facility

Our Haldia facility serves as a key hub for Lalbaba’s tubular solutions and rail systems operations. It manufactures cold finished seamless tubes in carbon, alloy, and stainless steel, along with critical rail components such as air brake pipes, double ferrule pipes and fittings, slack adjusters, and brake beams. The facility is also equipped for fabrication, bending, and assembly of modular brake systems and underframes, enabling end-to-end production and high-quality delivery.

Barrel-Type Cross-Roll Piercing Mills
Form hollows from heated billets, ensuring concentric tubes and uniform wall thickness
Cold Draw Benches (Drawn-on-Mandrel)
Produce precise diameters and smooth surfaces for automotive, hydraulic, and engineering applications
Pilger Mills (Stainless Tubes)
Reduce diameter and wall thickness with high accuracy, delivering fine surface finish and dimensional precision for heat exchangers and boilers
Bright Annealing Furnaces
Heat treat tubes in controlled atmospheres, producing oxide-free surfaces with improved corrosion resistance
Sizing Mills
Refine outer diameters of hot finished tubes to ensure dimensional consistency
CNC Bending Lines
Bend tubes such as air brake and U-tubes into ready-to-fit shapes for railways and process industries
CNC and VMC Machines
Precision machine critical railway subassemblies and fittings to exact tolerances
NABL-Accredited Testing Laboratory
Equipped with ultrasonic, eddy current, hydrostatic, tensile, and impact testing facilities

Uluberia Facility

The Uluberia facility is dedicated to Lalbaba’s forging solutions operations. It manufactures high-precision components including CBC coupler parts, draft gear, bogie and suspension elements, as well as grate bars, crusher hammers, and Bailey bridge lugs. Equipped with advanced forging and machining capabilities, the facility ensures consistent quality, strength, and reliability for rail and industrial applications.

Rapidly and uniformly heat billets before forging, reducing scale formation and improving metallurgical consistency
Drop Forging Hammers and Mechanical Presses
Shape billets into components with controlled force, ensuring strength and integrity
Trimming and Punching Presses
Remove excess material after forging to achieve accurate dimensions
Heat Treatment Furnaces (Normalising, Q&T)
Refine grain structure and adjust hardness and toughness
CNC Machining Centres
Finish forgings to close tolerances, ready for assembly in rail and defence systems
Die Shop with Vertical Milling Machines
Design, produce, and maintain dies in-house for faster product development and quality control
Testing Facilities
Include hardness testing, microstructure analysis, and NDT for compliance with standards

Ghusuri Facility

Lalbaba’s Ghusuri facility specializes in Lalbaba’s rail systems operations, producing critical brake system components such as cylinders, reservoirs, valves, and complete brake system kits. It is equipped for assembly and testing of brake circuits and undercarriage systems, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and safe rail solutions.

Indo Duestche Precision tubes

In addition to the above, Lalbaba’s joint venture with German tube manufacturer Poppe + Potthoff Gmbh, Indo Duetsche Precision Tubes , manages a dedicated manufacturing facility in Badli, Haryana, further strengthening our production capabilities and geographic reach.
